Default sub problems

I started up my car just now and my sub was acting stupid. Its not putting anything out just every like 3 secondsit hits once and thats all. It does this even when the vol. is all the way down you can still hear the sub thit once every 3 seconds.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

DO this. Push the midle of the sub in slightly, not hard, just enough pressure to get it to move its full ranhge of motion in. Let it back out, and if you hear a scraping noise, or it dosent go in, your sub is blown.

Also, post up specs on sub, amp and headunit, along with what wiring you are using. (brand, gauge, etc.)

It's a problem with the amp operation, the sub is fine. The reason the dome light flickers is because the amp is drawing a good chunk of current during the time it's actually operating the sub. Don't read into that dome light flicker too much, that's just showing a problem that you already know you have.
