Default DSM Motor Problems/questions

OK well ive been having some trouble with my TSi and it all leads back to the crank sensor i believe which sucks....
You can tell where the crank sensor wheel has hit the crank sensor a little bit.... therefor meaning something moved.... possibly the crank -_- (aka crankwalk)
Ive been wondering which way to go if my motor was crankwalked.... here are some options
-- 1g Motor
-- original 7 bolt
-- built 7 bolt
-- 4G64 motor conversion
I just wanted to get some opinions on which way i should go... i think the 4G64 would be the most expensive and hardest... I plan on doing all my work myself... so i can do anything i want basically.

Cyclone motor. Absolutely the best damn motor for that car.
www.adrperformance.com
carries them last time I checked.

I wouldnt cahnge the motor at all out of it. I think the 1st gen DSM motors have the most potential of any. Something else you cna look into if finding a wrecked AWD car at the junk yard, (head on collision) and take the tranny and rear out of it to convert your car.

If your car is working right now with that problem or you have another beater car. But a 2.0 Turbo motor and build the shit out of the engine. Do everything you can to it with you income and then plant that baby into the car.

I want my 1st gen back stupid ass non DSM 3rd gens

wtf...it's not crankwalk. I hate it when everytime a dsm gets problems, people think it's cw.
Does your car stall when taking a left turn? Does your clutch not want to come up off the floor when you push it in?
Does it sound like a woodpecker is tapping a tree near your timing belt?
The answer is no, you don't have these symptoms and you don't have crankwalk.
Why don't you to put a prybar against your crank and see if it moves?

your motor isn't crankwalked, this thread is a non issue.

you want a piece of my shitty 2g motor? That's right, you don't.
It's not a cost effective move for him to get a 1g motor, so can it.

-- Monday is the day to find out.... im gonna do the test for it... if it is i dont know what im gonna do.... doesnt matter, the car cant be down long...

-- I kinda dont really think its crankwalk but answer this question for me.... Crank Sensor has marks from the wheel on it.... only way its gonna move is by the crank moving forward or backwards...

-- why is there marks on the sensor?

-- Hopefully its just gonna be that sensor itself....

I vote 6 bolt, but if youve got enough $$$ to build a motor then why not build one, build a 6 bolt though if you do.
