I don't think that the wastegate pin would cause it to smoke though. You can try it that is probably one of the simpler things to start out with.

Yup im experiancing(sp) similar problems with my car, so after a day or so of trying to figure it out i said fuck it. Its going into Tuners Edge on tuesday and im guessing theyll set it straight. From talkin to the guy on the phone they sound like nice ppl who know there shit.

I'd check the turbo if its smoking like he says. If its not completely fucked it will leak on down rev's where vacuum is strong. Also valve seals can leak like that too. Check for shaft play and check you intercooler pipe just after the turbo for oil.
