93 Civic electrical problem

about a week ago i was driving home and my car just died in the middle of the road, then i couldnt start it back up i had no lights, no cranking nothing worked at all. i had to have it towed home. But prior to that happening i was in a parking lot and my clock, radio, and power windows went out. So i dunno if i have a bad ground connection some where or whats goin on. I kno its gotta be something electrical. So any info would help thanx

Check your battery terminals for corrosion. Make sure they are clean and well connected. Then maybe check your alternator connections. The bad ground is a good idea too. Good luck.

using a test light check to make sure all the fuses at good... if that's all good then make sure the battery is still good. if that is all good check to see if there power at the ignition, if not then some wiring is loose or broke. if there is power make sure there is power coming out of the switch. honda have a tendency to have ignition switches go bad...

Thumbs up Re: 93 Civic electrical problem

yea jus figured out the problem yesterday its a combination of my alternator being bad and my negative battery cable is loose on the battery. When i take the negative cable off the car cuts off so that tells me the alternator is bad. Then you gotta keep pressure on the negative cable's clamp or it wont keep a connection so im gonna change both of those and go from there. Thanx for everybody's input, the help was well needed
