lowering legality
Yea man yer rite!!! Cops b fuckn stupid bout shit lyke dat! Unless u own a real car u dun realy no 4 real!!
I'm a PA state inspector (err was before I joined the navy).
My car is registered in PA.
VA cops pull me over almost daily and try to give me tix.
I pull my inspection liscense out, they quiet down.
Then I pull my inspection book out, they stfu...
then I let them know politely about grandfather laws and they leave...
only had one get the mirror out and look at my "cat" moron thought my resonator was a cat and I wasnt about to correct him...
edit: moral of the story: Know your laws, have them in paper, then break them...

i am a va inspector and lowering a car has nothing to do with inspection as long is has been done the right way and all suspension parts are secure when the car is raised with either a lift or jack but most inspectors won't mess with them if they can't get a jack under it because we don't want to mess up anybodies side skirts because then we would be liable for the damage and i damn sure don't wanna pay for somebodies shit cuz they want it scraping the ground... if the suspension does not function as it would coming from the factory (being too stiff/loose) can pose a problem for inspection if the suspension does not absorb a bump because its too stiff that will not pass or if the shocks/struts are blown and they do not function like they should.... main reason being that they do not function properly.... but there is a difference in what passes inspection and what is state legal.... we do not check ride height for inspection anymore but state requirements are 3 inches above the ground or 14.5 inches from bottom of headlights if i remember correctly but it is also not legal to modify suspension and/or exhaust according to state law so there is several differences between inspection and what is legal
Just about everyone on this site has altered vehicles. Suspension is near the top of the list on things to mod for looks, stability, and performance. just save your origional units for that one day per year when you get inspected. Then, throw your performance parts back on. As far as police, just don't be stupid and you won't attract nearly as much attention. i have yet to get a suspension ticket. I've been pulled for various other things ie. tint, exhaust, speeding, blah blah. All with vehicles tucking tire. Never once questioned or warned about it and I live at the oceanfront. If you live or have been there you know why that's suprising.
