Shaved Handle Legality
I've been debating on shaved handles lately, and I was wondering about the legal portion of it. Here's was I found in my searching.
http://leg1.state.va.us/cgi-bin/legp...19VAC30-70-250
It looks to me that the note states that shaved handles are legal if you have a means by remote to open them. Also that note was ammended to the law September 22 of last year.
Does anyone know for sure, or even interperate this as you can't have shaved handles?
Thanks in advance!

Looks legal to me. You know how it is.... The rules say one thing, but you end up being punished for it anyway. It's becoming a real pain to mod your car nowadays.

"NOTE: A door opening device on customized vehicles may be converted to either a remote, push button or other similar opening switch."
Yes it can be converted, but it says NOTHING about shaving away the handle. Yes you can have a popper/remote/vibrator/whatever just as long as you can open the door from the outside somehow (using the handle).

I'm interested in removing my door handles and
converting them to a remote control. I have been
researching the laws in Virginia about this. What I
found was 19VAC30-70-250. In the code there is a note
that states "NOTE: A door opening device on customized
vehicles may be converted to either a remote, push
button or other similar opening switch." I would like
to know that if I do convert it to a remote
control/push button, am I still required to have
exterior door handles? If I am permitted to remove
them, should I keep a copy of this law in my vehicle
for inspections and if I happen to be pulled over and questioned about
it?
