How do you lower the car exactly. Do you just need the lowering springs or do you need that and something else? Thanks

its good you asked before you tried doing anything stupid....your best bet is to find a write up somebody did online with pictures. Lowering a honda is absolute GRAVY. (im assuming you drive a honda by your screen name). Try searching for "how to lower a car" "lowering car instructions". If you still have trouble, feel free to PM me for questions you might have.
lowering a car is fun...first time i did it myself it took me about 7 hours and that was without instructions...but it went fast after the first one was done....it all depends on the way you want to do it really...
With the proper tools, it can be done by a newbie mechanic. Theres a few different routes when lower your car. Theres the cheap bastard way - cutting the springs. Pretty easy but generally gives you horrible ride quality. You can buy lowering springs, but its recommended that you go ahead and upgrade your shocks/struts to some made for lowered cars and better handling. Then theres coilovers, which is probably the best way, because the ride height is completely adjustable, but its also the most expensive route.
i chose springs, i knew how much i wanted to drop it and i dont plan on changing the drop. but i was mostly looking at spring rate. that can be another thing you could try to look in to.
Dont cut your springs or heat them, most alignment shops wont aling your car casue its not in specs, same thing with heating them. Get lowering springs they are made for the car and have better ride and ide get new shocks too. Also if you lower it too much you will need to get a camber kit or your camber will be way off and wear the inside of your tires called flaring. Then you will have to spend more money to get tires. IF you want to lower it do it right the first time, lowering spings , shocks or struts and camber kit.
