Default help on lowering

first off i dont know if this is the place to ask.... here goes

ive got a 93 explorer 2wd that im thinking of dropping a few inches

now i know the rears i could just put blocks on but do i need to remove/add another spring?
is the ranger springs up front and shocks all around compatible with the explorer and if so from what year explorer/ranger should i be looking into?

if this is not the right place or if someone could point me to the right direction with this, i would be greatfull

thanks

you don't need to add or remove anything for blocks, But this will make the ride a hell lot more bumpy. IDK if it has torsion bars for the front, but if it does, all you have to do is tighten them down and it will lower your truck, and also make it bumpy as hell.

when i tightened the torsion bars up on my nissan hardbody, it lowered it a good 2~ inches, but made it the most bumpy ride, i had them tightened all the way too. and for the bumpiness, i guess you could get new lowering leafs for the back but i dont know, i just put blocks on my truck.

EDIT: Don't expect your truck to be slammed just from tightening torsion bars and block/leafs.
this is how low my nissan got from just tightening the torsion bars.

the truck doesnt really have torsion bars but radious rods its more of holding the suspension upright than torsion and also do you know if the suspension setup for a ranger and a explorer the same?

rangers have the i bean suspension.... for those you need to cuts the springs which is a bad idea... or buy lowering i beams.....

the new beams are around 250 bucks. the back can be lowered by blocks.... or removing a leaf...

if your a good fabricator you can make alot of this stuff yourself. the suspension is pretty simple.

im pretty sure the explorers share the same setup

That's an awesomely bad front suspension on your first gen Explorer. I guess it's fine for a truck though.

well for low riding, the fords are very simple..... body drops are kinda easy on them, and the i beam setup wouldnt be too bad to build a setup for. theres a few out there that are rediculously low.... but for the money i didnt think it was worth it.

i had an 88 ranger.

for what its worth maybe you might wanna think about putting a 5.0 in that thang.... its pretty straight forward and been done a billion times.... the explorer would be pretty rowdy and a sleeper at that.
