How to get started at VIR?
heh, don't check this forum much, but figured I'd chime in. I'll also be driving in HPDE3 at VIR, although I don't know which pile I'll be driving; check for a black S13 240sx or a red B13 SE-R.
As for getting into the sport, it isn't that hard. I worked as a corner worker and other positions for a little over a year before I ever hit the track. This gave me time to read up on the sport, decide on a car (and a few mods) and build up worker credits, so I didn't end up paying for any events for quite some time. Yeah, it can get expensive, but if you play it right and are creative and patient, you can really do this on a budget. Hell, I did it working less than 20 hours a week while I was in college and paying all my bills except for the school itself. This truly is like crack, and all my friends call it the GFCP (go-fast crack pipe).
