Dragons Ridge Approved
the only reason i'm doing thoes mods to my suspension is because my suspension is in such horrible shape right now. in stock form my car actually exhibited snap oversteer going through a decreasing radius turn. scared the shit out of me at the time. hopefully with the setup i want i should have the neutral with some understeer feel at the limit i'm looking for. my car has way too much dive under hard braking, and my transitions don't feel as connected as i want. hopefully the correct combination of mods will fix most of these problems.

Although DragonsRidge will be very nice if/when it happens. I've never slept in my own bed during a track weekend...

As for whether SCCA or NASA will get the best choice of DragonsRidge dates, who knows. SCCA gets preference at Summit Point (DC Region) and VIR (Carolina Region)... but SCCA doesn't have an active roadracing program in the nearest chapter to DragonsRidge (Old Dominion Region)... while NASA's entire Mid-Atlantic operation is run out of Richmond. So we'll just have to wait and see. But no matter what, and no matter who plays there or when they do, it's gonna be very cool having a road course so close to home!
PS- add me to the list of people who will be at VIR with NASA in Feb. I'll be instructing and tracking the WRX for the first time. Can't wait!

i heard that this is supposed to be like a private track, and that the memberships are going to be in the thousands. and you will still have to play to race. and the cars have to be muffled

Memberships will be nice but unnecessary with all the clubs renting the place for events (just like VIR)... let the clubs pay the membership fees to be able to rent it out, etc.
They would be shooting themselves in the foot if everything there had to be muffled. 103db is/was the SCCA limit, which is reasonable. Anything less will exclude a whooooooooole bunch of racecars (or require them to fab up new exhaust, etc.)
It may be "muffled during the week, unmuffled on weekends" which would be ok for the average racer. That is, they may only be allowed a certain number of "full volume days" like Lime Rock, etc.
I drove by the site the other week and there's still absolutely nothing to see.

103db is what i remember, i was just wondering if for some stupid reason it was going to be lower than that.
