[QUOTE=DerekBaker]off topic: does anyone know if you can race (hpde) under the age of 18? If so what do I do? get a waiver sighned by my parents?QUOTE]

I had a student who was only 16 at a NASA event, so there must be a way. check with the governing body.

That being said, he should not have been there with the car he was driving. He might have been all right if he had an auto as he didn't know how to heel-toe and he killed his engine several times in the corners. Scarey. So practice heel-toe if you have a stick until you don't have to think about it.

How tall are you? I do recall jamming my leg on the steering wheel everytime I did it in my friends 2nd gen, but it wasn't impossible. How far away is this place from Richmond?

I dont think it's very far from Richmond. Just go down 95 and hit 58. You can find directions on their websight. www.virclub.com

If you've never been on a track before it is better to mod your car afterward so you're not spending money twice - in the event that you don't like a mod after some track time.

Or you can speak to people who drive the same thing on the track often and learn from their mistakes. Modding for the track is different than modding for the street.

Sorry if you already know this DoC-JoneS - this post is aimed at anyone who thinks they need to trick their car out before their first track event.
