you have to pull the hub to do it right.

If you want to do it the wrong way you can shave a corner off of the new one and slide it in but I think that is stupid.

well considering a lot of people have done this and its not really hurting much i think its worth saving the 100 or so dollars to get the hub pressed out and back in.

to get the best clearance and to completely disassemble the hub, you must use a hydraulic press to push the bearing out. While at it, you should go ahead replace that bearing and ofcourse, get the studs pressed out.

its too late yes, but i prepared a chime in by the time i got to the bottom of the page that went something like this:

hit it with a hammer. wiggle out with needle nose pliers. wiggle the new ones in. put your wheel on. then impact wrench the sonnavabitch out of it... then use a torque wrench at like 80ft-lbs just to make sure. people tell me this is wrong and it will screw up your hub or rotor or blah blah blah. my favorite lug stud (the only non rusted shiney one) has been on there for two years and i changed it at vmp's parking lot between slides...

sorry. i really like my story...

your story sucks. and thats how wheels get stuck on. the stud never gets seated all the way or seats at an angle. one day when you go to remove your wheel, the lug just spins......uh oh.
