Yeah, it will thin out to 50 weight, which is think enough that it may not give you proper lubrication. The heavier the weight, the larger your oil galleys and everything else have to be to flow enough to do it's job. This means your turbo also, err on the heavy side and you might be choking your turbo for lubrication. Higher viscosity also means more power loss from fluid shear, so your turbo should (theoretically) spool slower with heavier oil.
If you're really worried about your turbo, use synthetic oil because it breaks down at a higher temp and is less prone to gumming up bearings and the dreaded "coking".. There is no reason to use a special weight just because you have a turbo though.
Seriously, if you HAD to have 50W for your vtec to work properly, it would be in your owners manual. Honda isn't dumb. Don't listen to "some guy", listen to the majority of the people who have been running turbo Hondas for years. "Some guy" has his head up his ass, or has done something wierd like enlarging his oil galleys enough that standard weight oil won't work like it's supposed to.

I remember using a slightly heavier oil in the Starion when the turbo got bigger.. the heavier the load the heavier the oil.. just not too heavy.

<--- 10w30 in a S14 and it sounds fine besides my front and rear main seal leak that I just found today while I changed my oil in the freezing fucking cold!

I think 40 weight is to heavy for a little honda motor, nontheless being as cold as its been and its still mid winter.. go 30 weight for now, 40 weight if u want to when it gets a little warmer if you want to
