Another thing with using rubbing alcohol. If you've ever had some on your hand you can feel it evaporate and when air is blown over your hand its cold. It disipates heat very well, or so I've been told.

Go learn some chemistry of thermal dynamics of air when below freezing point. Ice cyrstals and form. Ever fly in airplane at high allitude and when you land (when still below 0) and see ice formed on the wings or is this just me? Same concept. You will learn something.

I know what the hell you're talking about, but what the fuck does that have to do with an intercooler not performing properly?

Do you know how cold the IC would have to be and how much moisture there would have to be for ice to appear inside of an intercooler with 250*+ air flowing through it at a couple hundred miles an hour?

Teach away, guru.

The only problem I see with that is, the air filter does it's job.. and your car "inhales" vapor already. Also, if the intercooler is used after the turbo, connected to the piping after the turbocharger, the air should be warm enough to handle the freezing spray of Nitrogen. I think the only concern is to not try to spray the I/C too long to prevent any weld damage or anything else that might crack/break from the Nitrogen spray. $0.02.

Okay...for one thing, one can obtain a Hobbs pressure switch at NAPA autoparts! They can be ordered in a variety of settings for $25. To make a simple intercooler sprayer, go to dawesdevices.com. He has a page that has water injection and intercooler sprayer instructions.
I would never spray alcohol or CO2 on an intercooler. Most places do not allow water on a track. For the street, sure. I believe that Nitrous Express makes something that sprays nitrous on the intercooler, "n'tercooler" is the name.
Litlespic uses a sleeved intercooler that is made to have water or a glycol-water mix pumped through it. Water then flows through the intercooler and back down to the heat exchangers. That intercooler design does not simply get sprayed down with a water nozzle.

thats what i did but i used denatured alchol. It has better heat transfer rate. Well at least in chemistry class it did.
