Help with B16A high RPM's
I'm in need of some help. I have noticed that one minute the car wants to rev out at like 6500rpm's. Then all of a sudden it will rip good up till 8000rpm's. What would you guy's say check first? The car runs well no matter what. It just will not wind out.

Vtec pops every time! It's just my rev limiter (I guess you would call it?) kicks in at random. I take it for a spin one time it redlines at 6500, then next time it will redline at 7500-8000. It reaches that point fine no stutter, stumble, ect........ Why would my redline area change at random like that?

Re: Help with B16A high RPM's
He said VTEC is working regardless. Fairly well eliminates the oil pressure and solenoid.
ECU, Grounds, electrical problems in general, etc., affects fire and fuel....
Spark Plugs, Wires, Coil, Wiring and grounds, ECU, Battery, etc......Name any part of the electrical system......
Could have intermittent fuel problems. (You stop, pressure is released, that blockage at the filter suddenly empties itself. Start the car back up, that sediment starts packing in the filter again, until boom.... not enough fuel) So, that could be a filter, the fuel pump going bad, the wiring to the fuel pump not providing enough power, or proper grounding, the Fuel Pressure regulator failing and not allowing enough fuel through, let's not forget the injectors..... take your pick.....
But I'll lay odds, if he's right, and VTEC is fully engaged each time, that it's either fire or fuel related....
