It was originally a dx so it has a p05 ecu. i was told to get a p28 vtec ecu before i get it tuned. is this true or no?

Also, upgrade headstuds to arp and get a headgasket. Otherwise, if you go into boost a lot the headstuds will stretch. Stock d-series ones SUCK!

The p05 isn't worth a shit to tune with. Plus, I think that one is a economy ecu. I can't remember, so it'd have a 5 wire O2 and would make it un-tuneable for your needs.

Correct. Also upgrading the headstuds and headgasket would increase your boost capabilities.

And if u do have the economy ecu that takes a 5 wire wideband O2, u will need to hardwire a 4 wire narow band into your harness due to the fact that the p28 will not work properly with the wideband signal. Believe me, i learned this the hard way.
