Just make sure the wiring is fixed before you plug in the new ECU or it'll fry just the same.

definitely. we already scrapped the old 02 sensor and now we're using a back-up sensor he had sitting in his shed

If i find it, you can keep the money. I got it for free and i couldn't justify charging someone for it. Also it is a DSM so keep the money because you never know when you may need it

not until after i get off of work today. i've never had a "fried" ecu before, how would i determine if it is? a smokey smell? burnt circuitry?

UPDATE: so after a week of the car sitting in my friend's driveway, i got a hold of a 2g turbo ecu and plugged it up. turned the key, car wouldn't start. so at this point, i'm ready to burn the car. I put the orginial ECU back in, turn the key.....and it starts right up. go figure. idles fine and hits boost faster and stronger, my only gripe is that my 02 sensor might be bad because my a/f gauge says that i'm running extremely rich. minor fix though, i'm just happy the car is running again. thanks to everyone for their help concerning the matter.
