the car is a 95 talon tsi fwd, the clutch wont engage for sum reason and i have no clue what to do. u can start the car but if u push in the clutch and try to put it in gear it grinds and will not go in! HELP

 

Clutch slave cylinder replacement perhaps?

 

does the clutch pedal feel low? as in, does it feel normal, or is it real weak and you have to pull it up with your foot?

if not, then the springs in the hub are broken, and you will need a clutch replacement.

make certain the hyudraulic side is working first (signs of hyd. failure are low pedal, wont return up, and no fluid in the master cylinder)

could be the clutch release system and is def worth starting to look there.

if that doesnt fix the problem this is a classic sympton of crankwalk.
when u push the clutch pedal, the throwout bearing pushes on the clutch plate moving the crank towards the front of the engine. now the clutch release cant move far enough to disengage the clutch. voila.. fubar.

if this is the case replace the engine, and hope it doesnt happen again. theres really no way to guarantee it wont happen again since no one really knows why it happens, the finger gets pointed to the piston oil squirters alot.

cheap insurance on these cars is to disable the clutch safety switch. that way you wont have such a heavy load on the thrust bearing during startup when theres no oil to lube that bearing, since its splash fed not pressure fed.

 

thats why u dont waste money on POS DSM's ur car is fucked and time to get another one period end of convo think ur crank took a nice walk
