Default d16z6 loss of oil pressure at idle HELP!

i just helped install a d16z6 motor in my friends eg coupe. on initial start up it started to knock in the block at idle. so i installed new rod bearings and knock still came back. then, we hooked up a mechanical oil pressure gauge and there is basically no pressure at idle but okay pressure at 2000 and up along with no knock. main bearings are original and crankshaft is fine. pulled the valve cover and only half the head had oil getting to it. anyone think it could be a main bearing gone bad or get another oil pump? i really need the car running today. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks!

well the rod bearings have about 2 minutes of run time on them. should they still be okay and throw the new mains in too?

I would have done main, rod and thrust.....along with a new oil pump

If you've run it long enough with low oil pressure to find all of those things out, I wouldn't count on being able to reuse any of the bearings, and you might as well replace the oil pump also.
