yo guys i just want to say first off if you gonna call me a dumbass thats fine lol,im just tryn to find a few things out

I have a ls-vtec motor that was in a car that got wreckd last january,its been sittn in my garage since and im just now gettn enough money to put in it another car,the problem is it has a broken valve cover and a chipped off head bolt....what do u guys think it would cost to fix the headbolt thing and how much do i think it would cost?....do u think there would be other problems caused from it sitting in my garage that long? any help will be reallllly appreciated,thanks

do you mean, HEAD BOLT, like the bolt that goes into the block and holds the head down or are you talking about any other bolt on the head like a cam cap bolt or a valve cover bolt, if you broke a head bold off inside the block, well, your gonna need to take that to a shop that knows what there doing so your block is salvageable, caue you seriously dont want to have to helicoil a block........

there are other options to helicoiling on a block, but he said it's not stripped out, just broken off. if it's broken off and it IS in fact a head bolt there are things you can do to remove it...try to get a pic of the bolt you are talking about...

yea not a head bolt a cam cap bolt or a valve cover bolt or whatever it is...its on the top of the head

best bet would be to take it to a machine shop... shouldn't be that much

is it broken off flush with the head? or is there some metal of the bolt sticking up some?
