Default B16 turbo Problem

Ok my boy just installed a turbo on his 2000 civic SI and it will not boost. We think that the wastegate is messed up. It feels like the turbo builds up boost but you only feel like 1 or 2 PSI. It has a external wastegate and has 3 nipples on the wastegate and we are not sure if we have the vacuum lines hooked up right. can someone maybe post some pics of there B16 turbo. or let us know how they hooked up there wastegate.

What kind of wastegate? The vac line needs to run to the side port of the wastegate. If you have an electronic boost controller then you will utilize the side and top ports.

Even if the vacuun lines are not hooked up right, should still run off the wastegate spring. Are you sure there is a spring in it, if so how much boost will the spring hold?

could it be stuck open. Or could it be another problem. It does not even build up enough pressure for the BOV to go off.

did you put a good turbo on there? sounds like more than just a wastegate issue.

Check for all piping leaks, check all vacuum lines, check the wastegate to make sure it isn't sticking or faulty, check the spring (if there is one), check for all exhaust leaks... pretty much, go back over everything you did.
