there's a special unit in the 2nd precinct(oceanfront) who's sole purpose is to write citations to drum up revenue(or so Ive heard).

IIRC truck tags have to do with a vehicles weight, not height. They are for registering your truck to tow a certain capacity legally.

You're right. It has to do with the vehicles weight, but you can get a couple extra legal inches out of truck tags.

Saw a lifted white truck pulled over on Great Neck just over the bridge (Shore Drive side) this morning. Cop had his tape measure out measuring the truck height.

not really the law states the bumper height is by gross vehicle weight on the factory door sticker .. . nothing about truck tags or what you have it registered as . . .


46.2-1063. Alteration of suspension system; bumper height limits; raising body above frame rail.
For the purpose of this section, "truck" includes pickup and panel trucks, and "gross vehicle weight ratings" means manufacturer's gross vehicle weight ratings established for that vehicle as indicated by a number, plate, sticker, decal, or other device affixed to the vehicle by its manufacturer.
