Ive been to the Shenandoah OF's. We were there during a rain storm and they said Comptons rapid was reaching the Class III level. We kept picking up our single man kayaks and following the train through the woods to keep running the rapid.
Im around your area alot.
Nice, it's always a blast being down on the River.

This is the best site i can find http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/burkelake/ instead of planning a meet, wouldnt it be better to post up a day when YOU or your friends are going to go, then say the time and where? So whoever wants to come can go also you wont have to expect people to show and get dissapointed.

Example: My friends and I are going to Burke Lake on Friday May 18th from 12pm-8pm to relax, look at cars, and fish. If anybody wants to come we will meet at Fairoaks Mall infront of Cheesecake Factory at 11:30am and headout whenever we think everybody is there. If you come, see you there. If you dont, maybe next time. Bring Your Own Rod's And Bait!

REMEMBER THAT WAS JUST AN EXAMPLE I WORK TOMORROW!

Looks like its going to rain this weekend. I don't mind fishing in the rain but driving all the way down to Burke and those gay asses shut it down isn't worth it. I'm going to stay local this weekend and fish some ponds.

I will probly show up sat and sun and fish for a little, the park is always open rain or shine, and there is also a 24hr access about 1 mile past the main entrance. We usually park there just because less people know about it. Bad thing about weekends is its Burke Lake and it always crowded!! I will be in the kayak fishing.

I haven't been over to fountainhead this year but I think i'll make the drive over there sometime soon. Are the weeds/grass even up yet? oh, btw Fountainhead is not a lake, its a rez.

If you know the Centreville area, there is a pond over by lifetime, behind Boarder Cafe off rt29. There are a bunch of bass there as well as sunfish and a shit load of huge carp, but who catches carp anyways. Fished there last year after work at around 9pm when it was raining. Me and my buddy caught 14 bass in 45 minutes off a point. It took more time to take them off the hooks then to catch them. Use cranks, spinenrbaits, and plastics and your set there. Have not failed once there yet.

There is another favorite pond by Westfield Marriot on Stonecroft Blvd. Pond has some very nice bass in there. I fish there sometimes on my lunch break and catch one everytime. I have also fell into the pond ass well, don't ask me how but it was raining. Plastics and spinnerbaits seem to work very well. When the lily pads are up......Plastics.....gameover.

There is a pond that I found end of last year that I started to stock some bass in. There were some bass in there before but not enough. I saw a few people fish threre but very rare because its above ground. I let the secret out later this year when I feel that its ready.

For the fishing enthusiasts, we should meet up sometime!

Tight Lines,
Eddie

Hmm.. must try those spots when I have the time. The weeds and grass are up in some spots of fountain head.. just gotta rent a boat to go out there. Fountain head is probably a easier spot to fish for bass than burke lake, but im sure burke lake has some pigs. The most random thing that happend to me is when I caught a 25 inch channel cat on a rooster tail at fountain head. gave a really good fight but ruined my spinner. Yeah, we should all definitely do this fishing day so I can catch more bass lol.

shegotballz: where are the ponds you go to?

I went fishing yesterday at burke lake again. This time didnt catch anything. too many people boating and throwing rocks in the water and some inside the water scaring away the fish. Oh well, was fun though to get away from everything, sit down and relax. Maybe im not using the correct line, bait, and hook.
