Return of the pony cars
[/sacrasm]
I guess you can throw out there the Yenkos and the pace car versions and any other versions that were "produced". I was talking about dealership, mass-produced generalization. There are exceptions, of course, but MOST people are going tin assume the RS is a crappy engine with grond effects, the Z/28 is the base V8, and the SS is the top of the line package; because that's how they were badged in the 4th gen.
I was just explaining that the badging won't be like that. It will PROBABLY be more along the lines of the way it was in the 60's (according tot he little hints we've gathered fro interviews), where ANY engine package can have the RS equipment code, the SS is the V8, and the Z/28 is the end-all beast of the group.
Mine dynoed 320rwhp/325rwtq with a lid and a magnaflow catback
'02 Z28 6spd.

'02 Z28 6spd.I hate to burst your bubble but there are plenty of 01-02 F-bods that dynoed in the 340's with 6 speeds bone stock. Mine hit 326 with an auto bone stock, like I said there is very little difference between the power output, because they used similar parts. A head is not going to make much of a difference with .4 compression and an exhuast port on the 01's. The camshaft was its biggest contributor in 01. Then they really designed a camshaft that worked with those heads and got the power the were looking for in 02. They could have made a difference in 01 if they had not used an off the shelf GM "hotcam".

They were selling for fucking $80k for the first few that came out, and somebody just got ripped off not too long ago by a member of this board for around $65k.
Some people have more money than brains. Are they worth mid-low $40k? Yes. Are they worth over $50k? No.
MSRP is $42975. Throw in the gas guzzler tax and you're about right.
