And those cars were everywhere on the streets, what was I thinking!

I guess you can throw out there the Yenkos and the pace car versions and any other versions that were "produced". I was talking about dealership, mass-produced generalization. There are exceptions, of course, but MOST people are going tin assume the RS is a crappy engine with grond effects, the Z/28 is the base V8, and the SS is the top of the line package; because that's how they were badged in the 4th gen.

I was just explaining that the badging won't be like that. It will PROBABLY be more along the lines of the way it was in the 60's (according tot he little hints we've gathered fro interviews), where ANY engine package can have the RS equipment code, the SS is the V8, and the Z/28 is the end-all beast of the group.

So if and when the T/A comes back out also, you think the Formula and firebird will come back as well?

Mine dynoed 320rwhp/325rwtq with a lid and a magnaflow catback '02 Z28 6spd.

A head is not going to make much of a difference with .4 compression and an exhuast port on the 01's. The camshaft was its biggest contributor in 01. Then they really designed a camshaft that worked with those heads and got the power the were looking for in 02. They could have made a difference in 01 if they had not used an off the shelf GM "hotcam".

Here is some facts for the 2009 Camaro:

FACTS about the 2009 Camaro - UPDATED 3-19-2007

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There seems to be alot of debate over alot of different rumors going around.
Allow me to clear up some information, and state some facts.

I will be updating this as new information becomes availble.

FACTS ABOUT THE NEW CAMARO:
Camaro will be built at Oshawa Assembly.
Camaro production begins in September 2008.
Camaro Convertible production begins in about July 2009.
Camaro will be built on the Zeta chassis, a global RWD architecture.
Camaro will have IRS, because that's the only rear end that Zeta is engineered for.
Camaro will be priced competitively with equivalent-level Mustangs.
Camaro will be offered with 6-speed transmissions, manual and automatic.
Camaro WILL NOT be offered with an LS2 or an LS7 engine, because their life cycles come to a close before Camaro production begins.

FACTS ABOUT THE CAMARO CONCEPT CARS:
The Concept Car is speed limited to 40mph.
The Concept Car is rev limited to 3000rpm.
The Convertible Concept has functioning insturment panel gauges, but does not have a top.
The Concept Cars are NOT on a production chassis.
There are 4 concept cars: Silver coupe, Silver coupe push car (Australia), Red coupe push car, Orange Convertible.
The Transformer Movie prop Camaros are converted from production GTOs. Body panels were changed, interior is semi-changed, wheels are black steel 20s with covers on them that simulate the concept's brakes and wheels.

MSRP is $42975. Throw in the gas guzzler tax and you're about right.

They were selling for fucking $80k for the first few that came out, and somebody just got ripped off not too long ago by a member of this board for around $65k.

Some people have more money than brains. Are they worth mid-low $40k? Yes. Are they worth over $50k? No.

I guess it just gets to the point where people have the money so they don't give a shit anymore. Kind of like when XBOX 360s first came out, they were selling for like $5,000 on ebay but people were still buying them.

Well L88 was mainly a vette motor. They did make a few ZL1(all alluminum big block) Camaro's, I think around 4 came from the factory. But Chevy isn't gonna put any production car out that will out run their beloved Corvette. I don't blame them. Its almost like Focus RS and not releasing it because it mopped up the mustang's times in just about everything. But th Z/28 wasn't the most powerful, but it was the best all around car. The ss was offered as a 396 big block. It didn't handle as well. Also the 302's were rated at 299 hp. But Most with the optional Z cam put down around 400. It was all about the z series racing. Making the most powerful 5 liter.

According to everything I've seen, there will be no Pontiac "5th gen".
