Return of the pony cars
5)I literally LOL'd on the coment of the GT500. So you're saying that GM and Dodge need to hurry up and slap body kits and a huge mark-up for a stock basemodel V8 in order to compete? Doubtful. Of course I'm being sarcastic to a degree, but honestly what does the GT500 offer besides looks? Everything I've heard about the car is that it's completely overrated and way overpriced for what you get.
Old school muscle cars weighted a lot and had a lot of horsepower. The new pony cars are returning to this formula. True the Challenger and Camaro haven't been released yet, and we can only speculate at the weight, but I doubt they stray too far from this formula, or weigh under 3500 pounds.
does anybody have any idea what ford plans to do with the mustang gt engine when the new camaro and challenger come out?
It would seem like 300 hp would be on the weak side when the camaro and challenger come out.

They're going to do exactly what they did every previous generation. Not change a damn thing and still outsell the Camaro/Firebird/whateverz.
I'm not sure, but they already have a 5.0 4 valve mod motor in the FRPP catalog that makes 400 hp NA. They have the capability to make as great a N/A motor as they want, they just don't have to, and they know enthusiasts would prefer blower cars from the factory for their ease of power making ability.
I think the f bodies held their value better because they stopped making them. the older f bodies aren't doing any better at holding value than the mustangs. they seem about the same. only the 98-02 are holding value better.
Before a Mustang owner gets his/her panties in a bunch (not towards you Brock) the reason I even said that was because obviously people buy cheaper cars. I'm not 100% sure how much stock new edge GT's were, but I'm thinking less than a brand new non-stripper F-body.
