Mustangs and Camaros with their big V8's have a deeper sound with a modified exhaust. If an import has a modified exhaust, it usually sounds high pitched, and although some of you like that sound, most people find it annoying. That's why you get pulled and not them. In most cases, V8's only get pulled if it sounds like they took their cat off. My buddy got pulled in his Dakota R/T, and had to point the cats out to the cop. Just face it, VA sux, and some cops are idiots with quotas to fill. You guys are easy targets for them.

hahah, ya. my car soudns stock compared to your exhuast andrew. and that comment about it beeing raspy vs. deep jerry i think is correct. since i have this new muffler have NO rasp what so ever. its not loud at all, just deep and resonates a bit. ive never gotten messed with sense i changed it out.. not only that but my muffler looks about 80% stock and is black. =]

 

My advice : get a completely stock exhaust except headers and whatever else, and get a cutout.

 

People who drive imports (modified) DO get pulled more than people who drive equally modified domestic cars. It is due partially to stereotypes and the fact that cops profile us. The point you made about your mom revving in her Accord isn't a fair argument. I'm talking modified car vs. modified car. I completely agree that there are idiot drivers no matter what type of vehicle they're behind the wheel of. I see just as many dumbass soccer moms in 30-ton SUV's cutting people off and tailgating as I see modified Civics revving on people or doing "fly-bys".

 

not really. i came up to a stoplight with this supercharged mustang(loud as shit). we were talking for couple of seconds. we took off as the green light came on and there was a cop making a left. he threw on his lights and pulled the mustang over. i got away.the end.

 

yup, the stereotypes of imports will get you looked at by a passing cop car.
