and they actually are a pretty easy car to work on.
I agree. They are perfectly reliable, and great cars, but you have to keep up with the maintenance on any car that makes power. The problem is morons that can't afford to or choose not to for whatever reason, and the car falls apart because they did not take care of the car or properly maintain it. Any car with power is like that.

Although Im re-doing a speaker/reciever wiring job that one of the previous owners royally screwed over....but yea all around fun car.
wow thats a big rack of bullshit there. best is high 12s??? For 4k the car will make 320-330whp and run very low 12 and on racegas 11s. Plus the 60fts they cut are amazing, 1.6s on all seasons.
You sure do talk alot but don't actually seem to know too much about the cars.
Theres also quite a large option of aftermarket parts for them for a car that is relatively rare compared to most other shit.

i would just think that if they were so awesome i'd see more out at the track. as stated i have yet to see a live run or even a timeslip of an mr2 running any faster than a high 12. i suppose they're rare but it's not like you never see them around.
as far as the head gasket thing, when i was looking for one a few years ago i had heard from a fairly reliable source that head gaskets were a common issue with these cars, and apparently one that i drove had a blown head gasket. possibly the other one i drove too, because as i've said already, it failed to impress me. it felt slow and awkward. maybe i got a ringer, idk.
i've already stated several times that this is my opinion based off limited firsthand experience... i was asked why they didn't impress me and i replied.

Time slips, and videos on a select few. Keep in mind, there were never a lot of MR2s produced, sorry there aren't as many 600whp MR2s running around as Civics, Eclipses, and all the other "popular" whored out tuner cars.
I know how everyone gets butt-hurt on here, so I'm not gonna enter a pissing match with you, but can you please just shut up. Your ignorance is killing me. You've said numerous times you know nothing about MR2s, so let's just leave it at that.

sweet, so there are a handful of quick mr2's, never said there wasn't. i'm sure if you googled it you could find just as many quick sunfires or echos. now that we've established your mr2 fanboy status, can we now attempt an unbiased evaluation of its performance value as stacked against some of the other 'whored out tuner cars'? dollar for dollar, i want you to prove an mr2 as a legitimate option compared to other cars. should be no problem for someone as knowledgeable as you.
you're a real fucking piece of work. my ignorance is 'killing' you, so you attempt to alter my opinion? trust me, you'll never convince me to buy an mr2. why you would take personal offense to my opinion of your fucking car is beyond me.
but please, continue if you must. i'll play along.
Convince you to buy an MR2?! Ahahahaha, riiight. Nah, I'm not an "MR2 fanboi" either, just a proud owner, but seriously, you keep talking about MR2s, but then claim you don't know a god damn thing about them. It would've been better from the beginning if you had just shut the fuck up.
To me a 3000GT VR-4 is best described by 2 words: Over Engineered
The car is/was a technological showcase for Mitsubishi... the car was one of the most advanced road going cars of the day when released in the early 90's. It's quite impressive and incredible. Many of the luxury features we expect today were on this car back in 1990.
By over-engineered I'm saying Mitsu took the hard/complex route to accomplish the end goal of a performance sportscar.
The car has lots of everything...
*2 turbos
*2 intercoolers
*4 cams
*32 valves
*4-wheel steering
*AWD (front wheel biased)
*4-wheel steering
*Active suspension
*Active aero
Jay's car is one of the best in existence... despite the production delays on the paint and motor making it a 3 year restoration project... I'd buy a car like his in a heartbeat. Most everything has been simplified, upgraded, and smoothed out... the car is incredible, plus it's rare.
I'd only by a 3kgt in 2 scenarios:
1. I planned on doing a full restoration like Jay has done
2. The car is one of the ultra rare ones that is stock (or close) and has all the proper service documentation. (again very rare).
