91 3000gt vr-4
I'd pay $13000 for a stock, decent milage, excellent condition VR-4. You just cannot find them in good shape anymore.

This is a rare one.

MR2 all the way, waaaay more of a sports car than a VR4 can ever be. They have the most retarded problems I've ever seen in a car. They can't take abuse for shit, buy one if you want to pay out the ass for parts, gas, and keep holding out on driving the crap out of it because you're scared to break it. Just go to 3SI.org and look at all the stupid threads in the NA or TT section like IT SPUTTERRING AT XXXX RPM, SPUN BEARING? TRANNY NOISE, T CASE LOCKUP, SMOKING etc. etc. On a good note they run 12s with just bolt ons and 11s with just bolt on 13G's so they're quick on the strip. The inteirors nice as hell, and I dont' think I can ever get over how sweet they look.

i would stay away from those cars. no offense to jay, great guy, great car... but his is the only nice one i think i've ever seen, and (again, no offense
) i've never seen it running.now this is only my opinion based on limited experience with these cars- i've only driven one example, it was a stock ~93 stealth tt that i was completely underwhelmed with- but i've also been involved with the local car scene for going on 9-10 years, and i have noticed as a rule that these cars are just not all they're cracked up to be. granted, they're supposed to run 13s bone stock... but good luck finding one in good enough condition to run that without extensive maintenance issues being taken care of. add to the fact that they are excessively expensive to upgrade, hard to work on, and tend to break shit at a rapid pace, and there appears to be a plethora of reasons why it's hard to find one that has been nicely modded to the point where it is fast AND reliable (don't think one exists, actually), or even one that is stock and in good condition.
if i was you i'd keep looking for that mr2... even though those fail to impress me as well.

all this being said, i do think that it's cool as shit that jay has built a nice car despite all the vr-4's shortcomings... now he just needs to find a way to keep it running long enough for me to actually see the car in person.
this coming from a guy with an fc rx-7?

why do you hate on mr-2's i love those things they handle like gokarts

Most kids just can't afford to keep up with or care to do the required maintenance on this car. If you treat it right, it is truely an amazing machine.
