The time for SUVs are over, gas prices are too high. They MIGHT drop severly after 2008 if by then.

Just don't call it a Grand National. That's just fucking disrespectful.
Honestly, I could care less if Nissan were to make a small rwd roadster and call it the new 240sx. Honda has the S2000, Toyota has/had the MR-S, so why not Nissan? Hell, Ford did the same thing with the Capri.

As far as driving the 2007 GT-R based on the G35, I would rock one in a heartbeat. I think it's a good-looking, fast, and handles well.

.. and yes, I know a decent amount about the history of the Skyline. I still don't think the G35 lives up to the name, no matter what it started as.
You cannot honestly think that if Nissan rebadged a car from a different manufacturer and called it a 240SX that no one would care. There would be fucking riots at HIN with bonfires and homemade grenades.

Whether or not you think the Skyline lives up to its passenger car roots is beside the point. I don't think Nissan had the $1500 car buyer in mind when they designed it. I don't think the past 30 years of mustangs have lived up to their roots, but I don't see anyone complaining about that.
