2007 BUICK REGAL GNX. Pics inside (repost???)
I think you guys are really missing the whole picture here and argueing about nothing.
First of all...this was a photoshop of a pontiac GTO/Holdan monaro with a few badges that says GNX. Nowhere in the article does it say its a PONTIAC. It is clearly labeled as a buick and will BE buick.
The GNX will not be labled as a pontiac...so stop the bickering.

Now, had GTO's and Grand Nationals had some sort of partnership to begin with, I can understand.. but I don't believe Buick even started putting the 3.8t into their Regals until '76 or so..
Don't forget where the GN/GNX come from: The Regal, which was also platform sharred with the Monte Carlo back in the day IIRC. Should they rebadge the current monte carlo and call it a GN? People wouldn't like that at all.
I'd really like to know wtf people want from car companies. Do they want great cars or would they rather have a bs car with a historic name?
Pontiac, Chevy, Buick, yada yada yada...who runs everything??? GM??? all under the same company??? hmmm....they've been doing it for HOW many years now???

i understand what spic is trying to get at.
i always thought the import guys had more brand loyalty than they apparently do. Like you guys are saying i can respect a nice car whoever makes it. The problem would be re-badging it. I didnt agree with calling the holden a pontiac in the first place. If it's as simple as giving the credit where credit is due why not simply make it a buick? Most ppl dislike the new charger since it's a 4 door, not sticking true to it's roots. I would be making the same complaint if dodge tried to make a roadrunner or 'cuda.

oh - and -
I've never seen a Z in stock form ever resemble anything remotely close to 'quick'. If you could point out which years a Z car was actually something special, please let me know..
edit: and anyone who says they wouldn't care if Nissan marketed a Miata as the next-awesome 240SX is a fucking liar. If anyone here thinks the new G35 lives up to the name of Skyline, you're a fucking liar. They can make the car. They can market the car. They can sell a million of the cars. Just don't call it a Grand National. That's just fucking disrespectful.

Sorry, but I'm too lazy to read all 4 pages.
GM is probably going to cut Buick and Pontiac out of their lineup in a year or so, they've already said this. A GNX return is as likely as a Camaro return.
