As far as the rest, once again, I don't see how it matters whether or not the Buick-badged car rolls off a Pontiac line or a Buick one (if one exists). They're still both GM cars that share the same platform.
It's not even a matter of what line it rolled off of, or even REALLY where it was produced. It's a matter of it being a Pontiac badged as a Buick. It's a Pontiac GTO and they're trying to sell it with the legend of the GN behind it. It's not a GN. It never will be a GN.

Would you buy it, and if so, why would you not buy a Miata?

Although, I doubt Ford will do that.
What would be more accurate for your argument is if Nissan produced a Z33 platorm vehicle and gave it another name, badged under another company that is owns, like Infiniti. They release it in the US and call it, say, a G35.

They share platforms, parts, manufacturing lines, shareholders and executives.
I would disagree with Nissans not having any sort of history. The Z platform has been around for some time now.

The time has come to accept the fact that very few automakers have no orginality anymore. Fuck it, it's a Buick GNX. I could care less if it looked like a Camaro. I would rock one for the simple fact that the legend lives on.....cmon now....a V6TT from GM? Fuck yeah, I would definitely buy it.

I understand completely what spic is saying. It shouldnt be a pontiac, it should be a Buick. Even if it is the same platform as the GTO, it should be badged as a buick. Pontiac never had or should have anything to do with the GN or the GNX. It was a complete buick build from the ground up, there never was any cross breeding of the GNX with anything else, the only thing IIRC that it shares a platform with is the Monte Carlo.
