No, what would have been nice is if the car was a Buick.
THAT would be nice. As much as I love GN's, I'd never drive a fucking Pontiac. Ever.

It's stupid and my respect for GM is dwindling by the day with every pathetic marketing move they make.
I read some leaked information from a GM exec. a while back in a magazine that explained the death of the f-body. While it was being outsold like 10 to 1 (or something like that when compared to the mustang) that wasn't GM's main issue. The cars were built in Canada at a small plant that could only produce the f-body line. GM got money from Canada (or the cities where production was happening) and in exchange they agreed that as long as the cars were being produced, they'd be produced there. GM wanted to have their manufacturing plants be more versatile and able to produce more than one line of vehicles. GM's answer to their issue was to axe the f-body and sell the property with the plant on it. They couldn't sell the plant so they demolished it and sold it as just land. Now GM was out of their contract on two accounts: 1. the cars weren't being produced anymore and 2. the plant doesn't exist anymore.
Rumor from this same article was that the Camaro would return, but the Firebird/Trans Am was dead forever (we see how long "dead" nameplates stay away
). The Camaro rumor was from a comment made by Bob Lutz himself.

Now, if they remade the SHO with an australian car and domestic engine, I'd flip shit.
It's about history and heritage and shit. Grand Nationals aren't Pontiacs, and they SURELY aren't imports. They're the cream of the American crop. This is a disgrace.
edit: were you talking about the SHO, the Escort GT, or the Festiva?
Hopefully the Festiva. They're Kia's with Mazda engines and Ford badges... and I fucking love 'em.
