haha my mom is broker then i am. I talked to a few people in ohio and they could have charged me with reckless operation but i guess the trooper decided not to and i was told from an x cop they can't make me to go to court in VA for it and that the way they do reckless operation around here is the trooper gets to decide whether its speeding or reckless and im guesing since it happened on christmas day he let me off easy thank god.

 

Don't count your blessings until you leave the courthouse...it can be changed in the courtroom. As mentioned earlier...dress nice, be respectful, and act remorseful in the courtroom and you will be more likely to let off lightly.

 

I got a reckless like that. I was racing an integra in NC on my way back to VA. it was 104 in a 70. I accepted full responsibility for me being retarded, got a lawyer, and it was completely dropped. I didnt even go to court. My lawyer went for me. My driving record was spotless. good luck.

 

1. The only think that creeps to 102 are liter or above sport bikes
2. you creeped because you were not pressing the accelerator hard enough with your lead foot, you could have at least crawled.
3. Good luck in court, seriously, take the advice seriously in here, dress nice, make sure you are clean cut, go with your parent et cetera, it is yes sir, no sir or your honor depending on what the judge prefers. Defer to the police officer and don't argue like a child.
4. use this as a learning experience, you should have not been going 85 in the first place, no matter what the speed limit is, unless it was 85.

you better hope you dont go to court in va. i got a ticket just fucking around doing 137 in a 55 on 264 and the cop made a total ass of me in court. did i bitch about it no did i have a laywer no. either way you are fucked. just hope you have a good judge like i did. he took my dl for 6 months 3 months jail time(weekends) and 150 hours of community service. and to top it all off hes told me i am on probation till july 15th 2009. my birthday. this all happened oct 17th. good luck. dont waste the money on a laywer it aint worth the extra money. why spend extra money your gonna be the courts bitch either way.

You have to go to court where you were charged, there is no choice offered.



As for the above post, it would have been much worse without the laywer, you caught a big break with that weekend deal. The police officer didnt make an ass out of you either, you did that all by your self.
