ermmm I dont see any rubber whatsoever and I am staring right at this darn pulley. Its huge, and I'm thumpin it with my fingers and I see no rubber sandwiched between the 2 parts of the pulley. Inside the ring part I see maybe a thin layer of seriously hard rubber, but not what I remember taking off my friends car when we replaced his pulleys. Well todays the day and I have to wait for the body shop to call me and tell me my car is ready so I can take it back here and tear her down. I wish they'd hurry up..

Its a very thin amount of rubber, you dont want a ton as the shear forces from the torque would just shred it otherwise, but you want just enough to dampen things up. It will be in the crack where the two portions of the pulley seem to meet. If you got an OEM pulley, which I'd hope you would, it's there without a doubt. If I had my pictures from when mine seperated you would clearly see it, as mine broke in 2 pieces.

Yes San Rafael is OEM, so you have the correct pulley.

Yeah, the fact that I do the shipping and sent it out while I was talking to you has nothing to do with it either.

ugh...ok guys I got all the jackstands and tools and parts and got my car back. Now its up on jack stands, I have a floor jack and a 6 ton jack stand holdin up my motor by the oil pan, and 2 smaller jack stands holdin up the car on each side, I got the motor mount off, the engine is sitting at a weird angle now, I've got part of the side of the timing belt cover off. It broke off cause it turned brittle. and the top timing belt cover off. I've got my heat shields off now too (finally), but I can't seem to un hook the o2 sensor from this metal bracket attached to the motor. :\

I have 2 questions.

1. How do I unhook that stupid o2 sensor from the metal

2. Wtf are the water pump pulleys? I dont think I can see them yet, but the vfaq instructions say to loosen them. So far I've loosened 4 little #10 bolts on one of the pulleys.

If anyone wants to call me to offer me help tomorrow, feel free to give me a call, (910) 367 2683. I'm the only one that answers that phone #.

Or if anyone wants to be willing to help me out with this (Changing the belts, o2 sensor, removing the balance shaft belt, ac belt (if possible), and air conditioner componets) Feel free to post your # or PM it to me :-\ It would be greatly appreciated as this is my first time doing this.
