As with everything it can be commercialized and become a fad if people are dumb enough to follow it as a fad.
I've been eager to play with RWD since my father let me drive his Porche.. then I bought my TSi and drifiting became my new passion in driving.
It does take alot more skill and control of your vehicle. I'm not making any other motor sport look any easier or harder.. they are are difficult in their own respects.
You can follow trends or think for yourself.

If drifting is a fad then so is everything else that is mainstream. Its just a new sport. Some will grow to love it and some will never get the point on why they do it. I like it and it will be around for a while.

its like sports, some people hate them, some people like them. example
i hate baseball, fuck baseball. but i like basketball, hooray for basketball!
i hate drag racing, fuck drag racing. but i like drifting, hooray for drifting!
replace with whatever you want, im not really saying fuck drag racing, you get the idea.
