Dragons Ridge Approved
10 days till mazda drivers full course? Dangit.. I must've missed something... I remember following this in it's baby steps and watching the website get downed. (not literal but still). Of course for something like a track you'd probably have to expect it to get resistance by the locals.... Glad to hear it was finally approved all the way.... 2007 is a long ways away but eh... that's still awesome to hear.
thanks for the good news.

On the plus side, all the investment money is in and everything is planned out - so we're all just waiting on New Kent to stop the delay.
If I hear anymore I will post up. My news might be a little old, so if someone has more up to date info please post up!
will you need a roll cage and 4 pts for track days? if so i have some work to do...
never been to VIR and i'm not sure if SCCA or NASA will be the governing body in power.

It is still too early to answer those questions, but I know the head of the project is involved with the Porsche Club, NASA, and the SCCA. Being a member of one of those organizations might at least afford you a discount.

No, you only need a roll bar if your in a convertibale, or are racing wheel to wheel in a points race. SCCA mostly holds race events not track days, where as Nasa does both races and HPDE events on the same days. They simply rent out the track for the weekend and I'm sure they will be doing events there.
It might be a good idea to get a little bit of experiance before you go. VIR is only 3.5 hours away and there is a Nasa event coming up in February that a couple of people on here will be attending including myself. It's not that pricey as some of the events and it's a great group to run with for your first time.
off topic: does anyone know if you can race (hpde) under the age of 18? If so what do I do? get a waiver sighned by my parents?
i will deffenitly be at the febuary event if im racing or not.
