vtec problem

Default vtec problem

ok boyz I mah homie has a 98 gsr. now everything runs fine except that the vtec goes in and out like it'll go at 5500 stop at 5900 kick back in at 6100 stp at 6700 back in at 7100 ect....we poped the hood and the only thing i could think of was his vtec silinoid was rusted on the ouside pretty bad... if anyone can help pls do.

oil level? I dont know too much about Hondas but from what im told theyre very finicky when it comes to that.

change the oil. make sure you have the proper level of oil in the engine,or vtec will not engage properly. also....remove the vtec solenoid and clean the screen that is inside of it, sometimes it gets clogged up with debris which will in turn restrict the oil flow,therefore your vtec will not engage properly as well.
also check your pcv valve.....

+1 and try other vtec ecu's maybe urs is messed up
