valvecover replacement/idle issue
Can an incorrect replacement of a valve cover cause an idle issue?
Underneath of my spark plug cover I dont have any bolts over top of the rings and I was told that causes an idle issue because oil leaks out and into the spark plugs?
This is on a 2001 integra gsr... but the motor is a 95 gsr.
and also
after the car is warmed up, whenever I come to a stop the car will idle up to almost 2500 rpms.... Same thing if I put the car in nuetral while rolling. Seems like every time I press in the clutch when puttin the car in first at a stop it will idle to 2500...
any suggestions?

Re: valvecover replacement/idle issue
Ok, here's the solution:
- Remove valvecover.
- Install plug tube seals.
- Reinstall valvecover.
- Proceed to troubleshoot actual idle problem.

Tps sensor might be off alittle. Also check your Idle Air Control Valve might needs to be cleaned. Any check engine lights? Could be a vaccum leak. Takes some Carb cleaner and spray around intake manifold and throttle body for leak. If no check engine light my vote goes to a leak somewhere.

Re: valvecover replacement/idle issue
time for new engine... no... its new.... well newer..
Got a few CEL, one for fuel trim malfunction.... misfire.... then some other one
I bought a new tps and Ive cleaned the iacv....
Also, if I turn the a/c on it idles at 1500 and doesnt bog down nor stall. Ive adjusted the screw on the throttle body... no help. Some days it wont do it at all and runs perfect.
I know I need a new radiator, and I think I need a new front o2 sensor, i get 120 miles to a tank at the most. Unless I;m on the highway

Re: valvecover replacement/idle issue
On 99% of cars (MAP controlled, not sure about MAF cars), this screw is set at a VERY specific Minimum air flow point that the computer ASSUMES is flowing through the tb at idle. if you f*ck with this screw, you throw off EVERY calculation your computer makes about idle. i hope you know where that screw was.
