speedometer

i have done everything to try to fix the speedo. the speed sensor is good. all the power is good. just no speedometer. i have swtiched the gauge cluster and it doesnt even work on that. is it somethin in my wiring harness. do i need a new one. or what can i do. thanks

car is 2000 ek. b16 swap

what year car? also make sure that you have the little clip that fits into your speed sensor, or else it will keep popping out- had that problem in the past. is the rest of the gauge cluster working?

rest of the cluster works. and the speedo is secure. ive checked that too. i heard about that being a problem. and the car is a 2000 civic ex

Is it a mechanical sensor or electrical?

VSS?

is the actualy sensor bad? the wire/cable can be fine, but if you have no information from the sensor to go through that wire/cable, then your sppedo will not work properly?


replace the actual sensor, and go from there. its probably something very stupid.

its grounded. the speedo is good and all. im tellin you i have done it all. haha

check for continuity between the speed sensor connecter to the wire that runs to the bak of the speedometer, u should have continuity and be gettin a reference signal at the dash, cannot get one or the other. if no signal or continuity u have a bad connection or broken wire. let me know if u need some help.
