Default problem with 93 eg

hey i have a 93 civic it has a d15b7 vtec motor and i was wondering what would cause the car to go from high to low rpms and blow out smoke when it is idling please any help would be greatful

IAC valve? Fabrik8 will post shortly, if you have already replaced the IACV then I'm not sure on what to tell you. Or try checking the fast idle.

if it's not the iacv which is easy to check jus tap it with a wrench but you say it's burning oil could be your manifold gasket or a cracked valve try the manifold tho

Clean your IACV. really easy to do.

and bleed your cooling system. Just did this to mine cuz i was having the SAME problem. hope it helps.

IACV for idle issue sounds like bad valve seals for smoking?

What color smoke is it, and does it only smoke while idling?

the smoke color is white, sweet smelling. i just took apart the head and found out the head gasket is bad and i have three bad vavle seals and i just cleaned the iacv and that took care of the idle problems thanks for all the help
