If you don't know what the engine code means, why would you be looking at it anyway? It wouldn't mean anything to you.
Or you could look at the code, and go here http://www.hondaswap.com/forums/inde...howtopic=29825 , and find out if its vtec, by looking up the damn engine code.

i-VTEC is a VTEC motor that can also change intake cam timing up to like -+10 degrees or something like that.....helps a lot with torque.

actually you are wrong there... toyota came out with it first.. and then nissan came out with something like vtec then came honda.. but by far honda has mastered VTEC...yes the focus has something like vtec but it sucks... and general motors ( chevy, gmc, pontiac,) is also coming out with some shit like that... something i also found out the night before last, the ka24de also has somekind of vtec sort of shit going on there....

Yeah I thought Toyota came out with variable cams first too. I think it was on the later 4age's. Might be wrong.

Edit: NM, VVT was on the 20vs that came out in '92.
