tachs arent always 100% accurate, just like speedometers.

my itr shows 9000 when it tachs out.....does that mean i have a 9000 rpm redline?



nope, mines at 8500....and on the vafc, its more accurate and can see the difference. shit at idle the tach is about 100-200 rpms faster than the vafc.

some civics... and some vtec are for emission... there are 5 types of vtec

for all the people asking the why does my tach say xxx rpm but I only tach out at xxx... honda tachs are notorious for being inaccurate, they are as much as 400 RPM off by the topend, Mine is approx 100-150 off by 4krpm

ummm...no e is electronic fuel injection. the d in ka24de means DOHC

yeah i wasnt thinking when i did the nissan engine explenation.

So when vtec kicks in it changes the cam so that the engine gets enough air. dosen't ford have soemthing like that in the focus?

I think so, but Honda was the first to have it in production engines. Since 1989. The rest are followers
