Yep, I have a gsr tranny that when its in neutral position its hard to find a gear, it has a lot of movement from side to side. If you push all the way to the left and up into first gear, it actually stays in neutral. Straight down instead of 2 its neutral too. Its not the linkage becuase I got under the car and whatever is broke its inside the tranny. Ive been driving it around like that cause I kinda found a trick to it and I can drive it but recently it wont go into gears and I have to play with it a little.
Anyways my question is I was wondering if anyone might have an idea of what it could be. so before I take the tranny out and open I have an idea of what to look for, what to expect and what it might cost to fix.
thanks in advanced!!

you said it has a lot of movement side to side? check the rubber sleeve that goes around the ball joint of the shifter. it could have went bad. mine ripped and had a lot of side to side movement. or check the shift linkage bolts, mine came off one time while shifting.

when you move the shifter around (left and right) the whole linkage moves with it, even under the car. The shaft that goes into the tranny moves too. So Im guessing it must be something broke inside the tranny. I just dont know what to expect, I dont want to open it and find out it'll be an expensive fix. If it something expensive then let it be, I just want to know so I can save up some money before I open it up. If its a quick fix then I'll open it up this weekend.
