Default transmission drops into neutral

I have a 99 ford f-350 and when im driving on the highway the tranny drops into neutral sometimes. it only does it after i pass 50 mph. some people have told me that it could be the speed sensor, but i want 2 be sure before i go out and actually buy it. thanx in advance

I wonder if there is a way to diagnose that with an ODB2 scanner or the Ford-specific version of something like that. I'm assuming it's an auto tranny, in which case there are many, many more things that it could be instead of a speed sensor.

Here is what I was talking about (if you care to read it) https://www.vadriven.com/forums/show...=227656&page=6
I will ask my boy at the dealer to see if that is a common problem or something.
