Default d16z6 piston help

First of all this is a serious question so take me serious. I am no mechanic so I am not perfect.

I have a d16z6 block that is in the machine shop now. I am rebuilding the engine. I am having it bored 20 over since it didnt mic all the way even.

My question is if I can put in p29 high compression pistons?. i know when i broke the engine down it had p28's in it.

Second question is, If I am able to put in the p29 high compression pistions will I need to make any changes to the head or block in order for them to operate properlly.

thanks in advance.

The compression will be around 12 to 1, but I'm not sure about the p2v clearance. Go to honda-tech I'm sure they have a few write ups!!

Look up the Honda compression calculator it should give you your piston to head clearance numbers and if it will or will not work.

This is generally speaking though it has quite a few variables to go with it.

thank you. just going to go with the 20 over p28's. There is way too much that has to be done going n/a with high compression pistons.

Like what? Building the head is way too much?

Not building the head over. taking out the rocker arms and cams and sending it to my local machine shop. The guy does awesome work.

I had a stock bore z6 with p29 pistons in it with a ZEX stage 1 cam and it was great. Made about 150 whp. Not bad for piece of crap SOHC motor. Good luck with the build.
