compression results

Default compression results

i did a compression test on my ef that was running shitty. 1 3 and 4. had 152. cylinder 2 only had 62.. took the head off. dont look messed up. head gasket looked ok. and the piston has no play in it..? any sugestions?

before you pulled the head off you should have done a cylinder leakdown test on cylinder 2 to see where your leakage is coming from... by looking at your compression #s you probably have bad piston rings, maybe a bent valve or a valve seal problem

if the rings was bad. wouldent the piston have play in it?

not really, easiest way to test if piston ring is bad is to put a tea spoon of oil in the cylinder give it a few secs and retest the comp. If the ring is bad the oil will work as a temp seal and comp numbers will go back up.

Or since you have the head off already just go ahead and replace the rings, you already have it half way torn down.
