Audio problem
Also check the ground and power connections on the headunit, and that the remote turn on wire is connected well. I've troubleshot a lot of people's problems that turned out to be twisted/taped wires (don't get me started) and mis-crimped butt connectors and crimp caps. So check all that stuff. If there is any strain on the input connections to the amp, the power terminals may have fatigued solder joints on the circuit board too.
I glanced over his connections at the battery, the cap, the amp and at the subs. Like you said, I was mainly looking for stress on the cables and speaker wires. He took it back to Best Buy because he got the extended warranty on it, and got a Kenwood 1000W stereo amp and it seemed to take care of his problem. Thanks for your input anyway guys.
