CTR cams
JG springs/retainers/cam gears
skunk2 intake manifold
hondata intake manifold gasket
ARP head studs
usdm ITR .25 over pistons
stock rods and valves
ARP rod bolts
ITR oil pump
new main and crank bearings
RC 310 injectors
hondata S100
dc 4-1 header
omni power test pipe
2.5 ehaust

good numbers?

I made 164 on a GS-R on Hondata with I/H/E. I'm sure he'll be looking at mid to upper 170's

you can get more compression out of a set of civic type r pistons

use the stock head bolts they will be fine arp head bolts are waste of money if you you realy whant head bolts use aebs or the golden eagles

thats what i used in my ls vtec, no headwork or anything, some skunk 2 s2 cams, stock ls rods and made 178 to the wheels at 7800 rpm, car was fun, especially in vtec....but the car detonated like crazy even after it was tuned with hondata when i was under 4k rpm, shad and i drove around for an hour or so a little while after the dyno session to try and get a little street tuning at lower rpm and we still couldnt get it right, the pistons are so prone to heat so they detonate alot easier then forged shit....

I don't take my Type-R motor past 8200. I wouldn't take that motor past 8700. Especially only tuned on a VAFC. Rotational weight and momentum makes parts seem heavier. Add more speed into the mix and you'll over stress your engine. Type-R rods and some wiseco slugs at least and I would touch 9k, every once in a while.


i take mine up to 8500....
