idle surge. could be:
1. bad plug wire
2. bad idle air control motor
3. dirty throttle body
4.timing off a tooth
5. vacuum leak

search dsmtuners.com

hey, mine did the same thing, the list the one guy put out was hitting alot of them, you might check your biss "O" ring it gets hard and that can do it try going to www.vfaq.com and check out the idle problems they tell you everything on how to check your sensors and more great site helped me many a time. btw i love the Colt/Mirage 4G63 swap to bad you didnt get a turbo motor, read an artical about them about 2weeks ago cool setup i'd be a killer sleeper you going to run a little NOS to her

Dude, you could've probably gotten a turbo shortblock for the same amount and saved yourself the headache further down the road. I've got quite a few friends that have gone 4G in a colt/mirage.

My buddy Dave's colt went 12.40's @ 116 with a 16G/650's and S-AFC on his first pass with it. The drivetrain, turbo and ECU came off of his wrecked Talon. As he stated:

POS Colt - $600
4G63 - free
The baffled look on people's faces as "that beater Dodge hatchback" went mid 12's - priceless

He gutted it, did some actual tuning on it and went high 11's recently. He's still got less than a grand in it.
