Default 2000 civic si question

A friend of mine wants to buy a si with a 100,000 plus miles. He wants to know what would be a the best thing to do. 1) Replace the stock motor with a new stock one, and turbo it or 2) Swap it for an H22 or 3) What would be something other he could do.

That's not what he wants to do, but thanks that's a thought. I think he's getting a good deal on the car. That's why he wants to get the SI

rip apart the stock motor in it, build it, turbo it, and TUNE IT, then run 15 lbs. and your done. no stock h22 would keep up with it.

your going to have to replace the pistons, rings and rods in the long run anyway if your going to boost, so buying a complete new motor is pretty much a waste of money. have the clearances and compression checked on the old motor. if its within specs i would just rebuild that one. to tell you the truth 100k miles isnt all that bad on a honda motor unless the previous owner flogged the hell out of it.

yea or buy my jdm h22 and turbo that...u can run up to 8 psi on stock internals..... im selling the jdm h22 for 1200 bucks comes with intake manifold, motor, ecu, wiring harness, distribtor, alternator, power steering, and A/C...and if he wanted shift linkage just add 75 bucks....why buy a b16 when u can buy an h22 for nearly the same price???
